Gala Evening at the Barrandov Opera
Thursday 14 December 2017

We spent a most agreeable evening out near Needham Market. Mr. John Dearlove has created a lovely intimate venue to enjoy some excellent company, good food and some terrific music. The singers were quite superb, though we lived in some amount of fear that the OTT soprano would shatter our wine glasses! "Libiamo ne' lieti calici" (drinking song) from Verdi's La Traviata had us clinking our flutes and the all hands-on deck rendition of "the twelve days of Christmas" showed that our members could sing with the best of them. As this event was a success, we will be looking at including more music in future TAS programming.
